about evan
Evan Gill, 27 born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Recently moved to Colorado in 2017 with his wife and two boys. Evan served in the army as a 74D (CBRN) Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Specialist. This selfless service translated to the civilian world as a chemical specialist working for various environmental hazmat companies.
Evan started his journey to summit all fifty eight 14ers in Colorado, after being laid off from his job due to COVID-19. He turned his anxiety, depression, and PTSD into the fuel that drives him up those mountains. He wants to inspire as many people as he can to turn to the mountains that are seeking refuge. He also wants to inspire his kids that anything is possible. Evan’s mission is to spread love and not hate in these times that we are all experiencing.
Vibe Tribe Adventures (VTA) (formally known as Black Girls Hike Global) is a 501c3 non-profit. It is a is minority-women owned, a global outdoor & adventure company that was created to encourage Black women, men & urban youth to explore the great outdoors, practice conservation, educate on environmental science, health and wellness and to inspire one another to be authentically who we are naturally. We have created sisterhood, brotherhood and supportive learning environments on the trails, on waterways and in our local communities across the globe. VTA teaches outdoor awareness, health and wellness, mindful practices, and STEM education platform for the youth. VTA connects Black women, men and inner-city youth who lack the opportunities to explore to those who are already active in that outdoor community. We aim to fulfill our mission through the continuous practices of exploration by inspiring environmental education, health & wellness clinics and by bringing us all closer to nature one adventure at a time.
